A judge has denied bail for former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who's charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a friend. Macy's Inc has agreed to pay a $175,000 civil fine and improve its practices to resolve a U.S. government probe that found the retailer had discriminated against immigrant employees when verifying their eligibility to continue to work. A federal grand jury has returned a 30-count indictment against the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) was indicted on charges including using a weapon of mass destruction and bombing a place of public use, resulting in death.
