Syria's President Bashar Assad claimed in an interview that countries conspiring against Syria have "used up all their tools" in their campaign to overthrow his regime. The remarks came as Western-backed Syrian opposition figures gathered in Turkey for talks on electing a new leadership. Egyptian security officials say the Muslim Brotherhood's supreme leader has been arrested in a coastal city and flown to Cairo on a military helicopter. The chief justice of Egypt's Supreme Constitutional Court Adli Mansour, was sworn in as the nation's interim president, taking over hours after the military ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, while the army launched a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood, the group from which Morsi hails.
