Oil companies are reducing domestic production and increasing exports resulting in higher prices and higher profits. What's wrong with that? The oil companies are responsible only to their stockholders and not to consumers.

Buzz you're absolutley right in a truley free market but that's not what we have here. The US gives Big Oil all kinds of subsidies and we pay additionally at the pump in the form of taxes. The US also protects the oil fields around the world that allow the oil companies to produce without worrying about terrorism and we foot the bill. It's time they paid their own way so lets forget to provide the subsidies, have them contribute toward the cost of their protection and reimburse us for their current state of well being. Additionally they can help foot the bill for the development of alternative fuels and i.e. "natural gas at the pump."

What he doesn't say is why the hoarding takes place. It's based on a weaker dollar due to the Fed's QE's.

If Bush was president today Obama would be the first, followed by all the democrats here to blame Bush for gasoline prices. It's true, isn't it?

I think Cramer is full of it on this one. He sounds like an Obama supporter to me, just like the rest of the GS bunch.

This guy has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to the oil industry. I have been in it for 30 years. He is preaching the Obama line. He sold out 2 years ago.

What specifically does he get wrong? I've been following the industry for nearly as long, and can't find anything amiss with what he says. Easy to say he's in a politician's pocket, but where's the proof?
