Disaster & Accident Breaking News: Canada's Big Railways Review Safety Rules After Train Disaster

Wochit 0:59 mins

Canada's two biggest railroads, Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd, and Canadian National Railway Co, are reviewing safety standards after the deadly train crash on July 6 that killed some 50 people and destroyed the center of a small Quebec town. Steam is rising from a destroyed building that houses a reactor at Japan's crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, the operator of the plant, Tokyo Electric Power Co, said. British regulators investigating the fire on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner identified the plane's emergency locator beacon as a likely source of the blaze and say it should be switched off, spurring a rally in shares from relieved investors.
