Draghi's Wait-and-See Regard to Quantitative Easing Is Reasonable

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi unveiled more details of the ECB's asset-purchase plan on Thursday but disappointed markets with no hints about broad-based quantitative easing. Tim Edwards, Director of Index Investment Strategy at S&P Dow Jones Indices says one of the key takeaways from Draghi's commentary was the fact that asset-backed securities from Greece and Cyprus will be included in the bank's purchase program. With financials selling off after the announcement, Edwards says he actually believes it's reasonable that Draghi is taking a wait-and-see approach before opting for quantitative easing -- and further unconventional measures could come down the road.
