Dynegy Strikes Deal with Duke Energy Doubling its Generating Capacity
American power company Dynegy (DYN) is striking a deal with Duke Energy (DUK) that will double its generating capacity. Shares of Dynegy are rising on the news of the acquisitions totaling more than $6 billion. The two deals include Dynegy paying $2.8 billion for Duke's assets and $3.45 billion for Energy Capital Partners assets. Both deals are expected to closed by the end of the first quarter in 2015.
