August 5, 2014

Positive earnings news from some of Europe’s largest companies helps lift European stocks after markets stabilized on Monday. German carmaker BMW and Deutsche Post are among the earnings gainers in Frankfurt, while in Paris Credit Agricole rises sharply as investors give a thumbs-up to second-quarter figures despite a massive writedown related to its stake in restructuring Portuguese lender Banco Espirito Santo, which is being split in two.
