George Zimmerman Breaking News: The Case Against Zimmerman: Far From Clear, Undercut by Blunder.

Wochit 1:05 mins

As the prosecution winds up its case against George Zimmerman for the killing of Trayvon Martin, the accused murderer has been called a truth-teller by the chief detective on the case and allowed to present his story without cross-examination. The medical examiner who performed the autopsy on Trayvon Martin testified Friday that the teen may have lived for up to 10 minutes after being shot in the heart by George Zimmerman. Florida Department of Law Enforcement DNA expert Anthony Gorgone stated that Trayvon Martin's DNA was not found on the grip of George Zimmerman's gun, and Zimmerman's DNA was not found under the unarmed teen's fingernails. Prosecutors hope the testimony will help refute Zimmerman's claim of self-defense. The neighborhood-watch volunteer has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and says he shot the 17-year-old in the chest to protect himself as Martin reached for his firearm during a fight.
