Goldman Sachs Reportedly Prepares to Hire Small New-Partner Class

by TheStreet 0:54 mins

Goldman Sachs is said to be planning a new partner class of no more than 70 employees, its smallest class since 2012. That's according to a report by the Wall Street Journal, which says the partner position, which often comes with millions of dollars in annual pay, rewards employees who have proven their ability to take on a larger role in dictating Goldman's future. A Goldman Sachs source familiar with the process, however, told us that the story is based on speculation. The source said the firm doesn't go into the process with any preconceived notion of what size the new partner class will be and it doesn't yet know how many employees will be named.
