Wochit 1:18 mins

If you?re noticing a recurring theme at the end of each quarter, you?re not alone. As contenders like Nokia, LG, BlackBerry and HTC battle for scraps in the global mobile handset market, Samsung and Apple continue to dominate by a massive margin. Samsung recently posted record results for the second quarter thanks to the launch of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone and Apple shocked Wall Street when it beat estimates due to iPhone sales that came in much higher than expected. While HTC has managed to regain some lost ground with its high-end HTC One, the company continues to struggle in other parts of the market. The Taiwanese phone maker said on its earnings conference call that it is planning new products for midrange that will arrive either late in the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter. Taiwan's HTC Corp said it expects revenue to fall as much as 30 percent. A delayed launch for the much-hyped HTC One has highlighted the company's struggles against dominant smartphone makers Apple and Samsung and giving the company a weak outlook for profit margins.
