New iShares ETFs Offer Protection From Foreign Stock Volatility

TheStreet
Investors still want protection from volatility despite the current stability in U.S. markets and depressed VIX levels because they remember the wild stock swings during the credit crisis, said Joseph Nelesen, Director of Product Management at iShares. Nelesen said iShares recently rolled out 3 Minimum Volatility ETFs covering Japan (JPMV), Europe (EUMV) and Asia ex-Japan (AXJV) to meet the rising demand for this type of product. Finally, Nelesen said the ability to own a low volatility stock portfolio has been available to institutions for decades but is now available to individuals through ETFs.
