Jim Cramer and Stephanie Link Talk Anadarko Petroleum

TheStreet

TheStreet’s Jim Cramer and Stephanie Link own Anadarko Petroleum as part of their Action Alert Plus portfolio. Link says Anadarko has been doing well and that there is speculation that it is a takeover candidate. Both Cramer and Link like the stock even if it doesn't get taken out. Cramer says Anadarko is worth a tremendous amount of money. Anadarko had two lawsuits but stayed away from the giant oil run and actually has better prospects than all of the other companies because it has great international opportunities, it has been selling assets, and it just gave above average production guidance for the group for now until 2020. Cramer and Link were both attracted to Anadarko because of the visibility and because it lagged the group for the past two years. Cramer thought the lawsuits were going to keep Anadarko from being the next oil major. Cramer calls Anadarko the great growth oil company. Link points out that they are also raising their dividend, doing things with their cash, and finding growth making Anadarko a growth story in a group they like.
