The number of unemployed workers in the euro zone dropped in June, but by only 24,000 jobs, or 0.1 percent of the 19.3 million people out of work in May. U.S. employers added 162,000 jobs in July, a modest increase and the fewest since March. At the same time, the unemployment rate fell to a 4?-year low of 7.4 percent, a hopeful sign. It's not clear how the latest employment report will influence the course of Federal Reserve's monetary policy. But it's been a big day for forecasts nonetheless.
