Belarussian potash producer Belaruskali said it had not been consulted by Uralkali before the Russian company quit their joint venture and promised a new sales strategy to address the new market conditions. To say that Nintendo's Wii U had a troubling fiscal first quarter during the three-month period ended June 30 might be an understatement. The game company announced that during that period, it sold only 160,000 Wii U units worldwide, bringing its grand total since its launch last year to just 3.6 million units sold. During the period, Nintendo sold just a little over 1 million software units globally. According to a prosecutors' document, Italian prosecutors probing Monte dei Paschi's 2007 acquisition of a smaller rival are investigating U.S. investment bank JP Morgan over an alleged crime committed by one of its employees.
