Sprint has one less foe in its ongoing-battle over New York sales-taxes.The company released an SEC-filing confirming that the SEC has dropped its investigation into the carrier's collection of sales-taxes without attempting to enforce any action. It was a tough July for hedge fund manager William Ackman, whose $12 billion Pershing Square Capital Management lost 2.2 percent during the month, according to an investor. Motorola's CEO Dennis Woodside tells AllThingsD that the company plans to be open about chip technology, unconventional with marketing, and aggressive in supporting the latest versions of Android. Woodside is hoping that lots of people buy the Moto X, but he also hopes that the product sends a strong signal of where the Google-owned company is going.
