Wochit 1:16 mins

Ariel Castro was handed a sentence that will imprison him for the rest of his life as punishment for the abduction and nearly decade-long torture of three Ohio women. Castro, who pleaded guilty to 937 counts including kidnapping, rape and murder, appeared in Cuyahoga County for the approximately five hour hearing. Italy?s highest court definitively confirmed a four year prison sentence for tax fraud for Silvio Berlusconi, dealing a severe blow to Italy?s most dramatic politician. But it also called for a re-examination of a ban on his holding public office, a compromise that might stave off an imminent collapse of Italy?s left-right coalition government. A New York City jury has found that a former Goldman Sachs trader Fabrice Tourre is liable in a massive mortgage securities fraud case. Tourre was found liable in six of seven SEC fraud claims. He faces potential fines and a possible ban from the financial industry. The exact punishment will be determined at a future proceeding.
