Maritime piracy drama "Captain Phillips," starring Tom Hanks, is set to open the London Film Festival, as well as cinema fests in New York and Tokyo. "Captain Phillips" is based on the true story of Richard Phillips, commanding officer of the Maersk Alabama, a container ship that was hijacked by Somali pirates in 2009. The Lloyd's Banking Group said its recovery was ahead of schedule and that it won't need to raise additional capital to meet new requirements imposed by regulators. Lloyds reported its net profits to be $2.3 billion for the first half. France's Schneider Electric is nearing a $5.07 billion deal to acquire British engineer Invensys and could announce the agreement at any moment.
