Outlook is now available for the iPhone and iPad but don't expect full Outlook functionality. This isn't a MS Office Outlook app; this is Microsoft's stripped down mail, calendar and contact app found in Windows 8. It's free to download to iOS devices right now. Microsoft said it has written to the U.S. Attorney General to ask for more freedom to disclose how it handles requests from national security organizations for customer data. The appeal comes a week after reports that Microsoft allowed U.S. security agencies to circumvent encryption of Outlook emails and capture Skype online chats, citing leaked documents provided by Edward Snowden Tablets based on Microsoft's Windows 8 and Windows RT operating systems have struggled to gain traction so far and Paul Thurrott of the Supersite for Windows says there's a very simple explanation for this: The first generation of Windows tablets just isn't very good.
