Wochit 1:10 mins

The new $200 Moto X smartphone from Google-owned Motorola Mobility aims to use personalization of color and inscriptions as one of its key components. Motorola is offering workers a chance to reward friends and family with a discount on the Moto X if they agree to test the online Moto Maker configuration system. The Google-owned hardware company is offering $200 or more to those who test the online customization program and provide feedback on the ordering process and the device itself. Motorola's CEO Dennis Woodside tells AllThingsD that the company plans to be open about chip technology, unconventional with marketing, and aggressive in supporting the latest versions of Android. Woodside is hoping that lots of people buy the Moto X, but he also hopes that the product sends a strong signal of where the Google-owned company is going.
