Johnny Deep set fans abuzz when he hinted in an interview that the time may be near to eventually retire from acting. While chatting with the BBC to promote the U.K. release of The Lone Ranger, Depp hinted that there are "quieter" things he would eventually like to do other than making movies. The Wolverine ripped its way through the box office competition.Fox's latest installment in the X-Men franchise pulled in $55 million in its debut, knocking low-budget horror flick The Conjuring down from the No. 1 spot. Wolverine won the weekend box office. It wasn't great, with $55 million domestically (for comparison, X-Men Origins: Wolverine opened to the tune of $85.1 million four years ago), but Hugh Jackman's latest superhero flick made enough to beat The Conjuring and Despicable Me 2, which finished the weekend with $22.1 million and $16 million, respectively.
