National Security Agency Breaking News: No Sign of Snowden at Moscow Airport

Wochit 1:07 mins

Russian President Vladimir Putin says that fugitive NSA leaker Edward Snowden has been in the transit zone of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport since flying in from Hong Kong ? meaning that he has not officially entered the country. WikiLeaks says that former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden is "safe and well." However, this brief statement that gave no indication of how the information was obtained and did little to clear up the mystery concerning his whereabouts. The National Security Council said that the U.S. government expects Russia to look at all the options available for expelling NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Ecuador's foreign minister said that Snowden told the country's officials that he fears a life of inhumane treatment -- even death -- if he's returned the United States to answer espionage charges, and pleaded for asylum from U.S. officials he says want to persecute him.
