Obama Takes 'Full Responsibility' for Hostage Deaths

April 23 -- U.S. President Barack Obama speaks at a news conference in Washington about a U.S. counter-terror operation earlier this year that resulted in the accidental deaths of an American and an Italian held hostage by al-Qaida. Two other Americans linked with the terror group also were killed. Warren Weinstein, an American held by al-Qaeda since 2011, and Giovanni Lo Porto, an Italian national who had been held by the group since 2012, were identified as the two hostages who died in the operation in the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan in January.
