Politics Breaking News: Berlusconi Conviction Upheld

Wochit 1:06 mins

For the first time in decades of criminal prosecution, a conviction against former Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi finally stuck, leaving the media mogul with a four-year prison sentence for tax fraud with all of his appeals exhausted. But it's highly unlikely the man who long was Italy's most powerful politician will actually serve out the sentence behind bars. Secretary of State John Kerry said that President Obama has a timeline for ending drone strikes in Pakistan, and "we hope it's going to be very, very soon." Kerry, on a visit to Islamabad, made his remarks in an interview with Pakistan TV. President Barack Obama has chosen retired corporate and government official John Koskinen to take over an Internal Revenue Service under fire for its screening of political groups. Obama said, Koskinen is "an expert at turning around institutions in need of reform."
