Politics Breaking News: McConnell Warns of Gov't Attacks on Free Speech

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative groups is part of a broader government assault on free speech. A spokesman of the Swiss government has said that Switzerland will consider ways to allow its banks to hand over information to U.S. authorities later than previously indicated. The Swiss government is under pressure to find a way to save its banks from criminal charges for helping wealthy Americans evade tax after parliament blocked a bill on that would have allowed the banks to sidestep strict secrecy laws. Protesters gathered for a new wave of massive demonstrations in Brazil, extending the protests that have sent hundreds of thousands of people into the streets to denounce poor public services and government corruption.
