Zimbabwe's electoral panel declared that longtime President Robert Mugabe had won re-election by a landslide with 61 percent of the vote compared to 33 percent for Morgan Tsvangirai (Shang Guh Rye), who had been prime minister in a tense power-sharing deal with the president. Tsvangirai rejected the results as fraudulent and called for fresh elections while urging a peaceful response to the alleged massive rigging by Mugabe. After reviewing the United States International Trade Commission?s order to ban some patent violating older-model Apple iPhones and iPads, the Obama administration has vetoed a product ban that would have forced Apple to stop selling them. Kristin Huguet, an Apple spokeswoman said ?We applaud the administration for standing up for innovation in this landmark case.? Samsung owns the patents in question. Egypt's Interior Ministry warned supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi for a second time to abandon their protest camps as a senior U.S. diplomat met with officials on both sides of the country's political divide.
