Politics Breaking News: Obama Accuses GOP of Playing Politics on Health Care Law

Wochit 1:02 mins

President Obama criticized Republicans for continuing to push for a repeal of his signature health care law, less than 24 hours after the GOP-controlled House voted to delay both the individual and employer mandates of the law. The law, championed by Gov. Rick Perry, bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and requires abortion clinics to meet the same standards as hospital-style surgical centers. Leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives panel in charge of aid to Egypt proposed that military aid be kept at $1.3 billion next year, subject to conditions including the government planning and holding elections. U.S. law bars aid to countries where there has been a military coup. Lawmakers say that determination is up to the Obama administration, not Congress.
