President Barack Obama is offering Republicans something they've wanted for a long time, a simpler corporate tax code, in exchange for more spending on programs to create jobs for the middle class. But Republicans are saying "no deal." They say the corporate and individual tax codes must be changed simultaneously to help certain small business owners. Secretary of State John Kerry said that Israeli and Palestinian negotiators would convene again in the Middle East within two weeks and that their goal would be to work out a comprehensive peace agreement within nine months. Army Pfc. Bradley Manning has been acquitted of aiding the enemy when he shared classified documents on U.S. military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan with WikiLeaks, but he was convicted of lesser charges, including espionage.
