Smartphone News Byte: Microsoft Releases A Hobbled Outlook IOS App

Outlook is now available for the iPhone and iPad but don't expect full Outlook functionality. This isn't a MS Office Outlook app; this is Microsoft's stripped down mail, calendar and contact app found in Windows 8. It's free to download to iOS devices right now. Finding a job is not easy but a range of smartphone and web apps are designed to customize employment searches and even provide information on the competition. Free apps such as SimplyHired, Indeed, and Monster, for iPhone and Android devices, provide job opportunities through a keyword search, and web-based apps, including TwitJobSearch and TweetMyJobs, will scour Twitter for opportunities and send job alerts through the social network. Nokia could give its smartphones like the Lumia 1020 a Bluetooth boost, from version 3.0 of the wireless technology to Bluetooth 4.0. According to sources cited by The Verge, the Finnish phone maker is readying a software update that will sweep many of its higher-end Lumia devices, turning on Bluetooth 4.0 capability that resides within the chipset.
