Southwest Airlines Stock Sank on U.S. Ebola Outbreak Fears

After the first case of Ebola in the U.S. was confirmed, shares of Southwest Airlines fell on Wednesday making it TheStreet's Move of the Day. The carrier's stock declined on worries that flyers could start cancelling or stalling their travel plans for fear of coming in contact with the killer virus. Ebola is not airborne, but White House officials are taking the case seriously and making sure law enforcement agencies know its symptoms to be able to implement proper protocol for preventing any additional cases. Shares of major U.S. carriers like United Continental, JetBlue, Delta, and American Airlines also took a hit as well as travel booking companies.
