When the housing market slows down, sales of Saint Joseph statuettes go through the roof. That’s the word from the Wall Street Journal, where analysts crunched data about slow housing markets and the rise in sales of statues of the patron saint of real estate. In the Catholic tradition, St. Joseph, the patron saint of home and family, is seen as a boon to real estate sales. All you need to do is send out a little prayer as you bury a little statuette of the saint. It may be superstition but there are rules: Bury him upside down, near the for-sale sign on the property you’re trying to sell.
