Stocks Run Higher as Companies Start the Year Strong

Stocks traded higher on Tuesday as company earnings tended to be on the strong side. Netflix, Comcast and Xerox all beat analyst expectations with strong first quarter earnings. The only weak spot was McDonald's with poor sales. The hamburger giant tried to blame poor winter weather for a lack of customers, but Harley Davidson didn't seem to have any problems selling motorcycles.
