AT&T News Byte: AT&T Fires up More 4G Areas

by Wochit 1:07 mins

In its continual arms race with archival Verizon, AT&T announced it has brought 4G LTE data coverage to eight fresh metro areas. The additional coverage zones the carrier says brings its total hi-speed wireless footprint to 336 regions. Verizon indirectly refuted AT&T's ad campaign that claims it's "America's most reliable network." Verizon touted its own $7 billion annual investment in its network, its testing, and its "rigorous scrutiny" of new devices. The company fired back, "Others have tried to claim reliability. But to us it's not a hollow claim. Or a slogan. Or a fancy ad campaign." AT&T said that it is adding the first Windows Phone to its GoPhone prepaid brand. The big news is the price, with AT&T selling the Lumia 520 for just $99 without a contract or subsidy.
