Facebook recently said it would remove advertising from pages with content that might be offensive or controversial. Windows 8.1 users can now more easily move and resize tiles, create and name groups of tiles, change the background image, and pin freshly-installed apps from the App screen. Some three years after the Wall Street Journal first tested data collection and sharing in smartphone apps -- and discovered the majority of apps tested sending details to third parties without users' awareness -- the makers of widely used software continue to gather and profit from people's personal information.
