Top Tech Stories of the Day: Microsoft Still Hopes You'll Buy A Surface RT, Launches New "Surface Vs. IPad" Ad

Wochit 1:26 mins

Microsoft has released a new "Surface RT vs. iPad" ad. In this new installment, Microsoft notes that the iPad doesn?t have all of the accessories and bells and whistles that the Surface RT offers. Microsoft's stock is taking a hit after the software giant behind Windows, the Xbox and Surface tablets reported disappointing results for the latest quarter. The results, which fell below Wall Street's expectations, included a large write-off for Microsoft Corp.'s surface RT business. A poor reception for Windows 8 contributed to a revenue drop in the company's operating system software unit. The stock is still up about 18 percent year-to-date. The next edition of Google's Nexus 7 tablet will outdo the current model with a speedier processor and two cameras, at least according to a latest photo of the device. Manufacturer by Asus, the 7-inch tablet will reportedly come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the next flavor of Android still not yet officially announced. A quad-core 1.5Ghz processor will fuel the new Nexus, which will sport two cameras -- a 5-megapixel shooter in back and a 1.2-megapixel one in the front.
