The smartphone market is already huge, but things are expected to get even better in the coming years. By 2017, worldwide smartphone shipments are expected to hit 1.5 billion, new data from research firm IHS suggests. By the end of this year, IHS expects smartphone shipments to reach 700 million units Billionaire activist Carl Icahn renewed his call for Dell Inc stockholders to vote against a buyout offer from Michael Dell, amid reports that the company founder might not win enough support for his bid. Google has patched a security vulnerability that could have left Glass users with some major issues. Lookout Security discovered a flaw in Google Glass that allowed a malicious hacker to create a QR Code, and then after it was scanned by Glass, see all of the connections running through the search company's eyewear. The hacker could also deliver a payload over the Internet that would wreak havoc on Google Glass and possibly steal information.
