What to Watch on Wall Street for Friday, October 31st 2014

Friday, October 31st is Halloween and some big companies are set to scare up quarterly reports. Exxon Mobil (XOM) is scheduled to post third quarter earnings before the opening bell. With lower oil prices in mind, analysts forecast a 3.4% drop in earnings and a 6% fall in revenue from one year previous. Investors will likely key-in on Exxon's expenses, which are always a hot topic for big oil companies. Also, Clorox (CLX) is scheduled to report its fiscal first quarter earnings. The household products maker has been facing some challenges like unfavorable exchange rates, as well as higher raw material prices and increased competition during the period. On the economic calendar, we watch for personal income numbers, the third quarter employment cost index, Chicago PMI, and the consumer sentiment levels for October.
