Large corporations may still be using BlackBerry devices, but more small and midsize business are choosing Apple products, according to recent data.

The company’s iPhones and iPads represent about 76 percent of devices used by small and midsize businesses that activated Intermedia's ActiveSync software, which syncs contacts, calendars and other data across smartphones, tablets and computers.
Just 12 percent of new activations were for Samsung devices, according to the data, which Intermedia collected from January through October. Windows mobile devices and BlackBerrys each had a 1 percent share of the mobile market for small and midsize businesses, the firm said.

"They want to make sure that the device they're using keeps their corporate data secure [without] sacrificing that wonderful ease of use," said Intermedia President Michael Gold, adding that Apple devices are often perceived as more secure than other devices.
