Cigna (CI) is just out with one of the strongest earnings reports we've seen this quarter. The insurer made $1.89 a share when estimates were for $1.63. Revenues also raced past expectations at $8.07-billion. Also reporting is Time Warner Cable (TWC) , which made $1.69 a share, 4-cents better than expectations. But revenues here were a miss, with the CBS blackout getting part of the blame. Avon (AVP) is now down 9% on some ugly numbers. Earnings of 14-cents a share, a nickel short of expectations on revenue that was also below the consensus.
Facebook (FB) shares briefly soared 18% when the company released its quarterly report yesterday afternoon. Then, in a total turnaround, the stock moved into the red.
