Home prices slow down in April; Bigger iPhone reportedly coming; Google moves into GoDaddy's domain

Home prices continued to rise in April. The S&P/Case-Shiller index of home prices in 20 cities showed home prices rose 1.1%, after rising 1.2% in March. Year-on-year growth rose 10.8% compared to the previous month, but that was still the smallest gain since March 2013 

Shares of Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) soared in pre-market trading after the company said a combination of two of its drugs had improved the lung function of people with cystic fibrosis in clinical trials. The combination could help nearly half of those with the disease. Vertex said it would seek approval in the U.S. and Europe for the drug combination.

Bloomberg reported Apple (AAPL) will begin production on two larger versions of the iPhone next month. The 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions could both be released in September. The screens are larger than Apple's most recent iPhones, the 4-inch 5s and 5c. A larger iPhone will bring its screen size closer to models by rivals like Samsung. Google (GOOGL) has gotten involved in something almost antiquated in terms of the Internet: Domain name registration. The service, which is only in beta and open by invitation-only, would allow users to search and buy domain names. That would put them in direct competition with GoDaddy, who recently announced they will go public.
