Chris Ailman, Chief Investment Officer of the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), has had a spectacular year. Not only has he had double-digit returns on one of the world’s largest pension funds, he has also hit homeruns in specific asset classes such as global equity (up 19.2%) and real estate (up 14.1%).
Speaking with Talking Numbers, Ailman discussed how he did it and what he thinks the next twelve months look like.
