The Nikkei 225 makes another new five-year high, up above 15,000 for the first time since 2008.
Commodities continue lower, with oil, gold, and copper all down more than 1% once again.
In single stocks:
• BlackBerry downgraded at Bernstein, saying its platform launch impact is "reflected in investor expectations". I think BlackBerry’s main struggle is getting developers to work on its application library, which is woefully deficient relative to competitors.
• Deere & Company reported earnings and sales better than expected, but reduced its full year sales and guidance, in large part due to dollar strength (there is that theme again!). [Editor's note: we will be discussing Deere today on Talking Numbers.]
