Airlines have been known on Wall Street as "capital destroyers". Has any of that changed with recent earnings?
Airlines generally have a bad reputation on Wall Street for being terrible investments. This year, however, has been particularly good for the industry. Since the start of 2013, the NYSE ARCA Airlines index is up over 51%, far outperforming the S&P 500. The index is also up more than 70% in the last twelve months. But is it a good investment.
