    Profit at Mexican conglomerate Femsa plunges on forex woes

    Mexican bottler and retailer Fomento Economico Mexicano said on Thursday that first-quarter net profit plunged, hurt by an increase in the value of the Mexican peso versus the U.S. dollar.     The U.S. dollar and the euro traded in tight ranges Thursday morning, as the European Central Bank left interest rates unchanged, as expected. Traders are now awaiting ECB President Mario Draghi’s news conference at 8.30 a.m. Eastern.
