General Motors has issued a recall for a small number of Chevrolet Camaros built between 2017 and 2021, according to GM Authority. The badge found on the steering wheel could detach in the event of accident and could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

How exactly can the "Camaro" badge affixed to the center of the wheel become a projectile? Well, if an affected car gets into a crash and the front driver's side airbag deploys, force from the airbag can fling the badge out of its mounting point at a high velocity and strike an occupant.

The defect affects just 30 sixth-generation Camaros, according to Motor1. That's a tiny fraction of the roughly 200,000 Camaros built over the aforementioned four-year period. Luckily, Chevy already has a fix in place. The company plans to notify owners of all affected vehicles, and dealers will replace the entire airbag unit free of charge.
