LONDON, March 3 (Reuters) - Britain will expand the remit of the Bank of England to include environmental sustainability and its drive to create a net-zero carbon economy, finance minister Rishi Sunak said on Wednesday.
"(There) will be an updated monetary policy remit for the Bank of England. It reaffirms their 2% inflation target," Sunak said in his budget speech to parliament.
"But now, it will also reflect the importance of environmental sustainability and the transition to net zero." (Reporting by David Milliken and Paul Sandle, writing by Andy Bruce; editing by Michael Holden)
