What Tech Data’s Q1 sales say about the economy and the future of tech in the workplace

The economic outlook looks bright, based on sales in the first quarter of fiscal 2019 at Tech Data Corp. The $8.5 billion in sales reported by the Clearwater-based company for the three months ended April 30 included a lot of personal computers, servers and data storage equipment in Q1, said Bob Dutkowsky, chairman and CEO. Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD) is one of the largest wholesale distributors of technology products in the world, and its sales often provide a bellwether for business and consumer sentiment about technology products and trends.
