Major commercial construction firms based in Triad set to merge

Two Triad-based construction companies with similar makeup and culture are merging, effective Monday. Kirkland Inc. of High Point and Osborne Co. of Eden will merge, and Kirkland president Scott Kirkland will take the reins as the combined company's first president. Steven Johnson, senior vice president of WeaverCooke/Kirkland, said that for the "short term" – perhaps up to a year – Kirkland and Osborne will operate under their current names and maintain their existing offices.
