IBM sues UNC grad to block her from taking executive job with Microsoft

Research Triangle Park’s largest employer, IBM, is suing a former New York-based executive and UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, trying to prevent her from taking a role at one of its biggest competitors: Microsoft. IBM has filed a restraining order against Lindsay-Rae McIntyre, preventing her – at least temporarily – from taking on the chief diversity officer role at Microsoft. McIntyre, who led IBM’s diversity initiatives, is being accused in the federal suit of violating a one-year noncompete agreement.
