[$$] U.S. Government Bonds Edge Lower After Weak Treasury Auction

U.S. government bond prices edged lower Tuesday after investors bought a smaller-than-expected share of three-year notes at auction. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose to 2.873%, compared with 2.860% Monday. Yields had risen earlier in anticipation of the auction and remained higher after investors exhibited below-average demand for the securities.
