After mixed Black Friday, retailers in wait-and-see mode for holidays
Crowds up: Customer traffic rose by 7% over 2021 on Black Friday, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing data from RetailNext, a market researcher that tracks traffic with cameras and other sensors. SensorMatic Solutions, another customer-traffic analytics firm, says Black Friday crowds increased just under 3%. The New York Post notes, however, that Thanksgiving Day store traffic rose by 19% as more stores opened on that day than in recent years.
